Lots of ADHD tips as I find them extremely useful.
- Have a "family hub" to collate and corroborate different events and schedules.
- Know your limits and priorities. Cancel unnecessary and unenjoyable plans, and commitments beyond capabilities and constraints as early as possible so the other party has enough time to adjust.
- Sequence instead of schedule.
- Schedule times to not worry about schedules. Schedule meeting-free days.
- Visual cues, reminders, lists.
Building Time Wisdom
- Track task lengths. Begin with a guess, then start a timer.
- Question WHY you are scheduling something.
- Meeting
- Starting ahead and placing a sense of urgency.
Night Time Routine
Create a night time routine that supports or shortens the morning routine. Keep stations free of clutter, and place all needed clothes and items in their stations before bed.
Scheduling
- Decide on what you want to accomplish, when you want it to happen, and then figure out what is required to do it. Schedule and block out time to build on the pre-requisites.
- Schedule time to meet, talk, discuss, and communicate with other people for anything related to group works, including holiday planning and leisure activities.
Time Buckets
Instead of scheduling specific events or actions, schedule "time buckets" for doing anything relevant to a specific goal. Create a list of actions beforehand, and once the scheduled time arrives, pick anything from the list to do.
Getting Started
Starters / Activity Task Lists
ADHD Strategies from the Community | How to ADHD | YouTube
For any repeating multi-step activity, create a list that breaks down the steps and order of actions needed to complete the activity. When it is time to do the activity, the first step is to open its corresponding starter. Makes it easier to begin and transition into the activity and prevent mistakes.
