Political Assassinations
More incoherent ramblings than actual post, but I don't really plan to go back to this.

Multiple things can be true.
- Political assassinations are always terrifying, and fear of violent retaliation and further polarization is expected.
- Death should not have happened.
- To be mourned for after dying is not actually a legally enshrined human right.
I think a lot of the reactions to the positive reaction this death has garnered comes from people who mistook being mourned for or honored after death as some human right. Or that they think a positive reaction to death is equivalent to violent bloodlust. Death and its consequences can be taken seriously without being upset about who died. Not feeling sadness does not equate to sadism. This is not a difficult concept to grasp, but here we are.
One lesson to take from all of this is that you should live your life in such a way that the reaction to your death isn't "good, they won't be able to torment others anymore".
The article about the Etsy witches' involvement with the person in question will lead to some... interesting developments in the community. There's a lot of possibilities: renewed moral panics, interference with online businesses - nothing more than speculation. There might be more people poking out of curiosity, or a desire to enact their own curses (personally or politically motivated).
