Language Shapes Us

People are more malleable than they believe themselves to be. The language we listen to and use shape how we see and interact with the world, and thus changes our beliefs and, by extension, ourselves, on a fundamental level. To communicate is to think, and to think is to be. This extends much further than slurs, offensive words, and who is 'allowed' to use and reclaim them.
